Kedah will take on T-Team this Tuesday at Stadium Darul Aman with both teams hoping to improve on their mid-table league position
Kedah’s coach Wan Jamak Wan Hassan is hoping that his players have overcome the mental and physical frustrations of being eliminated in the FA Cup semi final by Kelantan last week. The Canaries threw away a two goal lead to allow Kelantan to stage a fightback to claw their way back to 2-2 and ultimately lose out on away goals.
There are no injury concerns for Kedah, with defender V. Thirumurugan set to retain his place after a long layoff because of injury. National striker Khyril Muhymeen is set to partner striker import Vedran Gerc upfront.
T-Team on the other hand will be fresh and raring to take on Kedah after being well rested. They last played on the April 17th, losing 2-1 to Kelantan on home turf. Former national midfielder Zairo Anuar Zailani will lead his side from midfield while former Kedah youth team player Mohd Faiz Subri will partner Mohd Fadzli Shaari in attack.
The last time both sides played against each other, Kedah came out victors. A brace from departed striker Hamidan Mohamad sent T-Team crashing out from the FA Cup competition. This time the Ghanaian is not around but his place is taken over by Vedran Gerc. The Croatian has been in good form for Kedah, scoring three goals in as many appearances.
Both teams will be looking to exploit defensive weaknesses of their opponent. Both sides have strikers who are capable of punishing any wrongdoings by the defenders.
The key battle of this match would be between midfielders Alfatah Safi and Zairo Anuar Zailani. Both players are capable of making killer passes to the strikers and they are also good from dead ball situations.
It should be an interesting match as both teams are known for their attacking game and they won’t be content sitting on the back foot.
