The Green Armyhas a lot in store when they will officially receive Kenya Premier League trophy after their match against KCB at Kasarani on Sunday.
Other than the trophy presentation itself, a lot will unfold and it will start with the style of entry to the match venue. Gor Mahia officials have laid out an elegant plan where players will ride in hired limousines all the way from City centre to match venue and make a lap of honor before going into the dressing room.
Gor Mahia first vice chairman David Kilo, who is chairing the preparation committee for Sunday’s event, has confirmed to Goal hiring of the luxurious cars from Home Limos and Events.
“This is the day we have all been waiting for as Gor Mahia family and we have to take all the strides to make it a worthy day for our players and fans as well. Many teams eyed the trophy but our boys achieved it through their frantic efforts on the pitch and so, we, as an office have to treat them in a special way like special people and for that case, they will ride in limousines.”
Kilo applauded the spirit of Gor Mahia fans and how well they have stood with the team through the bumpy road to glory. “Gor Mahia fans are fantastic and their never say die spirit has pushed the team in the recent seasons to give players morale to offer their 100% on the pitch.
“The office is working with a section of fans headed by Ben Agunda, who is one of the fans coordinator, to make Sunday a big day for all of us.”
Gor Mahia has won the title after 18 years of waiting and all their fans are more than happy to see their team crowned champions of the biggest title in Kenya this year.
