The Protectors made it five out of five in all competitions as they comfortably saw off the Jaguars and moved to fourth in the table
Marquee signing Lee Kwan Woo opened the scoring for the Protectors and his Korean counterpart Kwon Da-kyung scored a quick double, before Izzdin Shafiq rounded off the scoring towards the end of the game.
The visitors, who were missing key players from injury or suspension, were always going to struggle against a Home side who have finally started delivering in terms of results and performances.
However, they did have their chances and they almost took the lead in the opening 10 minutes when Moroccan Monsef Zerka’s curling effort went just over the bar.
But it was Home who broke the deadlock as Lee’s exquisite free-kick from the edge of the penalty box on the half-hour mark gave his side the lead.
Zerka again was the main threat for Tanjong Pagar and would have brought his side level from a 30-yard set-piece just after the break, only for Home custodian Shahril Jantan to palm the ball away.
Soon after that, the Protectors doubled their lead as Lee turned provider from a corner, which Kwon duly headed home.
Kwon then doubled his tally a few minutes later in amazing fashion he spotted Jaguars goalkeeper Aurelien Herisson off his line and promptly lobbed the ball from just after the halfway line into the back of the net.
Izzdin rounded off the scoring in the 73rd minute as he reached the end of substitute Indra Sahdan's cross and powered the ball home, capping a victory that saw his side move to fourth in the table.
