Bolton - Tottenham Preview: Only relegated Wolves have conceded more goals at home than the Trotters

Owen Coyle's men have struggled at the Reebok all season and are desperate for a win in their fight for survival while Spurs need three points to boost their top four hopes

Bolton are likely to be without first-choice right-back Gretar Steinsson after the Iceland international missed the Trotters' draw with Sunderland, with manager Owen Coyle also confirming him as a doubt for Spurs' visit, Manchester City loanee, Dedryck Boyata may replace him.

Nigel Reo-Coker picked up a knock at the Stadium of Light but is expected to be fit in time for Wednesday's match but the tie will come too early for Lee Chung-Yong who is back in training after suffering a broken leg in pre-season.

Harry Redknapp will have to make do without Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who had surgery on Monday on a dislocated shoulder and will not feature again this season, Danny Rose will continue at left-back.

Scott Parker missed Spurs' weekend win over Blackburn Rovers with an Achilles problem and Brazilian Sandro may deputise for the stand-in England captain once again, while Louis Saha has been out for two weeks with a groin injury and is unlikely to feature at the Reebok.

  • A win for Bolton Wanderers will move them out of the bottom three at the expense of QPR, and see the Trotters join Wigan and Aston Villa on 37 points.
  • Only Wolves (43) have conceded more goals at home in the league this season than Bolton (33).
  • Owen Coyle's side have not kept a clean sheet in their last 12 Premier League matches since a 0-0 draw with Arsenal on February 1.
  • Nigel Reo-Coker has started all-but-one of the Trotters' Premier League matches this season. He missed their 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa on December 10.
  • Tottenham began and ended April with league wins but picked up just a solitary point from three games in-between.
  • Harry Redknapp's side have been unpredictable on their travels all season, winning six, drawing five and losing their other six away games in the league, scoring and conceding 22 goals in the process.
  • Spurs have picked up just three Premier League points in away games that they have conceded the opening goal in all season.
  • Rafael van der Vaart (pictured right) netted against Blackburn on Sunday to become the first player to score 10 or more league goals in a season for Spurs since Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov in 2007-08 and 2008-09.
