As expected, the home team dominated the game early on with K Gurusamy and Shukor Jusoh bossing the midfield while Amri Yahyah and Raimi Nor causing problems for the visitors’ defenders.
It did not take long for Selangor to break the deadlock as a quick counter attack saw Amri Yahyah slot home after a clever clearance by goalkeeper Norazlan Razali from T-Team’s corner kick in the 11th minute
The Red Giants controlled the possession but sloppy defending by Selangor saw Abd Latiff Suhaimi snatching the ball and unleashing a shot from outside the penalty box to equalise for the visitors.
Selangor continued to make sloppy mistakes and the visitors took the opportunity to go forward but Norazlan Razali was at his best to prevent T-Team from taking the lead.
Lifted by the goal, T-Team continued to press Selangor’s goal and forced the home team to make mistakes and Norazlan Razali had to be at his best to stop T-Team from taking the lead in the first half.
Selangor started the second half more brightly and controlled the game. The introduction of Forkey Doe and K.Soley had injected more energy to their attacking lines, and proved fruitful as both players combined a nice move to set up Amri Yahyah to give Selangor the lead.
The home side continued to dominate and sealed the win when defender Nasriq Baharom’s header found the back of the net in the 70th minute to put the game beyond reach for T-Team.
There was more time for Selangor to score a goal as Forkey Doe punished the clumsy defending and calmly put the ball passed the goalkeeper in the dying minutes of the game.
With the win, Irfan Bakti's men stay second in the league, above Johor Darul Takzim only by a superior goal difference.
