The Red Giants will look to get back to winning ways in a hurry to strengthen their position at the top end of the table, but beating their local rivals should be no easy task

Quite whether Selangor would have fancied a local derby so soon after Tuesdays loss to ATM is questionable, but there is no doubt that Fridays match gives the Red Giants the ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways. After the 0-2 reverse, Irfan Bakti has seen his team slip from top spot to 3rdand he will be keen for a win that will keep pressure on teams around them in what has become a congested top five.
Just outside the top five are opponents PKNS, who have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far. Abdul Rahman’s team are always organised and difficult to beat, and are currently enjoying a three match unbeaten run. The Red Ants managed to avoid relegation on their first year back in the Super League last season, and the off-season signing of Patrick Ronaldhino Wleh, joining the returning Frenchman Helmi Loussaief, has given the team some much needed creativity.
Despite their defeat last time out, and the fact that they have played two difficult fixtures against Kelantan and ATM in the past week, Bakti is unlikely to want to make too many changes to his team. He will, however, be without suspended import players Ramez Dayoub and Francis Forkey Doe who are likely to be replaced by Fairul Aziz and Afiq Azmi. I also expect the nearly fully-fit international winger S. Kunanlan to come into the team at the expense of Raimi Nor who was red carded in Tuesdays game. Look for Ramzul Zahini to play just behind youngster Azmi, with crosses being supplied by wingers Kunanlan and K. Soley.
PKNS have one of the most settled teams in the league with Khairu Azrin, Faiz Isa, Remezey Ros, Helmi Remeli, Es Lizuan Zahid and Aminuddin Noor all being ever presents so far. Zamri Morshidi and the in-form Ronaldhino Wleh will be the front two, while Loussaief and Fauzan Dzulkifli, who scored against Negeri Sembilan on Tuesday, will be the central midfield pairing. The two teams will meet at the Shah Alam Stadium on Friday night, kick-off has been scheduled for 8.45pm.
