Following their 2-1 victory over Terengganu FA on Saturday night, the LionsXII travel to Terengganu to take on T-Team as they bid to keep in touch with Pahang and Selangor at the top of the Malaysian Super League (MSL) table.
Coach V. Sundramoorthy will have issues in central defence to contend with, as Baihakki Khaizan is ruled out through suspension. Regular partner Safuwan Baharudin, will not travel due to National Service (NS) commitments, which also robs Sundram of Shakir Hamzah and Madhu Mohana. That leaves Faris Azienuddin and Ali Hudzaifi as the only registered defenders in the team, with both likely to make their MSL debuts here.
Irwan Shah will likely fill in for regular right-back Faritz Hameed, who is set to partner Faris in central defence, which means Gabriel Quak will take his place on the left wing. The 22-year-old impressed as a substitute against Terengganu with his direct play and incisive dribbling, and will be keen to build on that.
Shahfiq Ghani, who was lively in his first start on Saturday, is also ruled out due to NS while Fazrul Nawaz is still suspended thanks to a red card against Selangor PKNS last week. As such, Syafiq Zainal, who scored the winning goal against Terengganu, should start as the lone striker upfront.
Their opponents have lost three out of four games so far, with their only goal coming in a 1-0 win over Kelantan FA as they lie third from bottom. The Titans have struggled despite having signed former Dutch international George Boateng and ex-Ireland striker Caleb Folan, who nevertheless remain the main threats for them.
Skipper Shahril Ishak, who stepped up his game in the second half against Terengganu to lead his side to a come-from-behind victory, will be key to the visitors' chances of getting three points here.
T-Team won 2-1 in the same fixture here last season, but they have shipped three goals in both of their last two games and that should be enough incentive for the LionsXII to go for the jugular as they seek to avoid a second successive away defeat.
The match will kick off at 4.45pm on Tuesday at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.
