Although Wales had a lot of the possession in the early stages, the Besiktas keeper wasn’t fully tested as most of the efforts that came his way were from distance. Nothing he could do with either of the visitors' goals.
Had his usual defensive problems dealing with wingers, his time it was Robson-Kanu that scorched the on-loan Mallorca full-back. He was however useful in an attacking sense, offering support to Burke in front of him.
Never looks comfortable at left-back and that was noticeable, as Wales interchanged in his area, with Bale and Bellamy causing him all sorts of problems. But like Hutton on the opposite side, he was effective in a forward position, setting up the goal for Hanley.

Looked like a deer in the headlights for the opening minutes, as the Blackburn defender was scared to deal with anything over the top from Wales. But when the chance came his way on the stroke of half-time he made no mistake, heading home the opener. However in the second half he reverted to type and could have been sent off for some silly challenges.
The Birmingham winger looked a real threat for the Scots as he ventured down the right wing, playing in a few tasty crosses for Miller and others to get onto. In the second half he had a couple of chances, but didn’t do enough.
He struggled to get into the game and Wales had the majority of possession in the midfield area. Didn’t seem to be able to get forward as much as he would have liked and that cost his side.
Made an absolutely stupid challenge on Gunter had cost the Scots a penalty kick and saw the Norwich midfielder sent off. He never got into the type of attacking positions as he normally has.
Seemed to overrun at times by the Welsh midfield, especially early into the game, but the former Livingston midfielder found his composure and became a lot more potent as the game wore on.
The Sunderland striker lasted only a minute in Gordon Strachan’s competitive debut as Scotland boss. He gave both him and his club manager Martin O’Neill worries, as the Scots head for Serbia and as the Black Cats stare relegation in the face.

Came on for Fletcher in the first minute and missed a couple of good chances in the first half that could have helped Scotland claim a result.
The home side rarely threatened the West Brom keeper’s goal, but when they did the 30-year-old didn’t look the most confident and was nowhere to be seen on the stroke of half-time as Hanley headed home.
Was a solid dependable part of the Welsh backline for Chris Coleman as he rarely allowed Miller to get in behind him and when he did, the Swansea defender had the pace to retrieve the situation.
The Swansea youngster was involved in the incident that saw Fletcher stretchered from the field in the first minute. He had a few tricky moments, having to deal with the pace of Burke, who managed to get in behind him on a couple of occasions.
Tried to push forward as much as possible, helping claim the penalty when he raced into box, being hauled down by Snodgrass. Defensively there was little that he had to do throughout the game.
Will be wondering how he wasn’t able to deal with the Scotland corner on the stroke of half-time that saw Hanley open the scoring. The 31-year-old had a few good blocks, but looked the weak link in the Welsh rearguard.
Was sweating when he seen his penalty smack off of McGregor’s bar, though he was delighted when it eventually nestled in the net. The Arsenal midfielder controlled the midfield area throughout, helping to dictate play. Sent off deep in injury time for a professional foul
The Tottenham star looked like he was toying with the Scotland defence for the first half hour, as he pinged the ball about like a puppet master pulling the strings in the midfield area. But fortunately for the home side he failed to reappear after the break, being replaced by Jonathan Williams.
The 23-year-old Reading winger was a real threat to the Scottish defence early on as he looked to exploit their weakness at right-back with Hutton. Helped the Welsh take the lead with a superb header, getting in behind the centre of defence.
Had a quiet evening, not having much to do in his defensive role, covering for his back four, as Scotland rarely threatened him. Replaced by King.
Looked composed throughout the game, as the Celtic midfielder tried to get in behind the Scotland defence in order to help out his frontline. On his 45th appearance for his national side he rarely put a foot wrong.
Was desperate to get a goal and the veteran forward covered nearly every blade of the attacking half to try and achieve his goal.
Came on for Collison and was superb setting up the winner for Robson-Kanu.
Replaced Bale and looked a threat throughout the second half.
Came on late for Ledley.
