  Much of the threat came down his flank and he was unable to do anything about it. He even played himself into difficulty at times as he was guilty of overdoing things in possession. Made amends with a tremendous cross that brought the third goal.

  Was involved in the lead up to the opening Dortmund goal, and although BVB actually got relatively little change through the centre of the Frankfurt rearguard, he was too easily shrugged off by Gotze as BVB regained the lead after being pegged back. Fine header to win his side a point, though.

  Lively down the left-hand side of the park for the newly-promoted club, bombing down the wing after 10 minutes to drag a shot narrowly wide. His side’s most effervescent presence and got an assist to Aigner’s goal before scoring himself a minute later. Super throughout.

  A performance worthy of his billing as one of Germany’s great rising stars. Had a shot the flirted with the goal before driving BVB 2-0 up in fine style from distance. Withdrawn at half time due to injury.
