Southampton - Liverpool Preview: Reds aim for fourth win on the trot for first time in over two years
Brendan Rodgers' side will be looking to continue their impressive recent form when they visit a ground where they have not tasted victory in over a decade
By Al Hain-Cole
Mauricio Pochettino has a fully fit squad to choose from, with Steven Davis (illness) and Danny Fox (thigh) having returned following time spent on the sidelines.
The Southampton manager faces a selection headache over his back four, following Maya Yoshida's solid performance in an unfamiliar right-back position in the 0-0 draw at Norwich. The Japanese defender may retain his place in the team ahead of usual full-back Nathaniel Clyne.
The pace of Jason Puncheon may be preferred to the guile of Jay Rodriguez, who started on the wing at Carrow Road.
Pepe Reina faces a late fitness test after missing much of the last week's training due to a calf injury, meaning Brad Jones could keep his place in the Liverpool goal.
Brendan Rodgers admitted that Joe Allen will require surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury, but the Welshman could still be involved on Saturday.
The Reds manager has no further injury concerns, with Martin Skrtel now back in contention and challenging Jamie Carragher for a place in central defence.
