Player Ratings: Swansea 0-3 Everton

First half goals from Victor Anichebe and Kevin Miralles set the visitors on their way, before the impressive Marouane Fellaini sealed the win after Nathan Dyer's red card

    Michel Vorm

Made three important saves in just under four minutes but could do little about Anichebe's first half goal. Did well to force Miralles' shot onto the bar but could do nothing about the Belgian's follow-up to make it two, or the third, which deflected off Williams.

  • Alan Tate

    Alan Tate

Was shrugged off the ball on too many occasions by Anichebe and Fellaini and endured a very difficult afternoon until being replaced by Britton.

  • Ashley Williams

    Ashley Williams

Booked after 11 minutes for late challenge on Anichebe, who later scored after the centre-back failed to deal with Fellaini, before Everton's third off the Belgian's head deflected off the defender.

  • Ángel Rangel

    Ángel Rangel

Had a chance to pull Swansea back into the game but was thwarted by Howard, before fluffing a chance when it was surely harder to miss. Booked for hacking down Anichebe.

    Ben Davies

Wanted a penalty for a soft nudge from Mirallas but was correctly waved away. Was given a stern test by Anichebe and Fellaini's work in the channels.

  • Michu

    Michu

Rose above Fellaini for a first half header but couldn't hit the target and perhaps should have done better, before being denied by Howard when through on goal.

  • Pablo Hernández

    Pablo Hernández

Subbed at half time on his home debut after a totally anonymous opening 45 minutes.

  • Wayne Routledge

    Wayne Routledge

Weak pass early on almost allowed Anichebe in. The winger's excellent cross on the stroke of half time should have been rewarded with a goal but was wasted by Rangel.

  • Jonathan De Guzmán

    Jonathan De Guzmán

Attempted lob was denied by Jagielka. Tried to force Swansea back into the game with some craft at the start of the second half but his influence waned. Crashed a thunderous free-kick against the bar in stoppage time.

  • Sung-Yong Ki

    Sung-Yong Ki

Yellow carded for a poor tackle on Pienaar in the first half. Almost scored with a curling effort that flew just wide, and played in Rangel - who was denied by Howard - beautifully. The midfielder was kept off the scoresheet by Howard himself in the second half.

  • Danny Graham

    Danny Graham

Took until the second half to carve out a chance on goal, but volleyed wide from speculative distance before mistiming a header. Taken off for Shechter.

    Leon Britton

Brought on for Tate as Swansea pushed for a way back into the game. Couldn't contribute going forward but headed a Fellaini chance off the line.

Nathan Dyer Flop of the Match

Came on at half time for Pablo Hernandez and got booked for dissent 10 minutes later, before picking up a second yellow card for a careless foul. A hopeless performance from the midfielder.

  • Itay Shechter

    Itay Shechter

Replaced Graham for the last 20 minutes but couldn't pull Swansea into the game.

  • Tim Howard

    Tim Howard

Made a superb save low down to deny Rangel in an otherwise quiet opening 45 minutes for the American. Had to be alert soon after the interval though to keep Michu at bay, before forcing a Ki strike over the bar with a strong wrist.

  • Leighton Baines

    3.50

    Leighton Baines

Put in a typically dangerous cross for Anichebe, who was kept out by Vorm, in the opening minutes, before repeating the feat after the interval. Got his assist for picking out Fellaini, who made it 3-0. Assured stuff from the England man.

  • John Heitinga

    John Heitinga

Preferred to Distin and was rarely tested in the penalty area, but played his part in keeping the home side from scoring or creating many genuine chances.

  • Phil Jagielka

    Phil Jagielka

Cleared De Guzman's chipped effort off the line in the first half. Ensured Graham couldn't get a sniff.

  • Phil Neville

    Phil Neville

Launched the attack for Everton's second goal by breaking up a Swansea attack. Nearly sliced into his own goal but was otherwise solid and dependable.

  • Leon Osman

    Leon Osman

Hustled the Swansea defence in an industrious performance that has become the norm for the unsung Everton man. Booked for hauling down Routledge.

  • Steven Pienaar

    Steven Pienaar

An energetic performance. Could have done better with first half chance after burst into Swansea box, but provided Mirallas for the second goal of the game with an excellently precise ball into the Belgian's path.

  • Seamus Coleman

    Seamus Coleman

Deputised capably at right-back in the absence of Tony Hibbert and had a fairly comfortable game.

  • Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini Top of the Match

A handful for Swansea from the start. Provided the assist for Anichebe's opener with some trademark hold-up play, though the ball had struck his arm. Played his part in Everton's second as well with a perfect pass for Pienaar. Missed a sitter from point blank range after being picked out by Anichebe, and saw a header blocked on the line by Britton, but finally got his goal, nodding home in the final 10 minutes. Subbed for Bryan Oviedo to an ovation from the visiting fans.

  • Kevin Mirallas

    3.50

    Kevin Mirallas

Denied twice by Vorm early on, but headed into an open goal in the first half after his initial strike was pushed onto the crossbar by the Dutch goalkeeper. Crashed a second half effort against the bar. Replaced by Naismith with 20 minutes left.

  • Victor Anichebe
    3
    1
    3.50

    Victor Anichebe

Powered in the opener in the 22nd minute from close range. The striker might have had a hat-trick were it not for the heroics of Vorm. Should have an assist to his name after finding Fellaini just yards out, but the Belgian could not capitalise. Like Fellaini though, Anichebe missed an easy chance when played in by Baines.

Substitutions

  • Bryan Oviedo
