Player Ratings: West Ham 3-0 Fulham

The Hammers were in dominant mood in the first half, with Andy Carroll a prominent figure as Martin Jol's side were battered into submission after Kevin Nolan opened the scoring

    Jussi Jaaskelainen

Made two stops in the opening half hour; the first a slightly fortunate block on Richardson's shot, but the second a comfortable save from Sidwell's effort. Rode his luck late on, pushing Rodallega's effort onto the post, but had a pretty quiet afternoon.

  • Winston Reid

    Winston Reid

Made the simplest of runs from a corner to thump his effort into an unguarded net, and was fairly untroubled in defence.

    Joey O'Brien

Got forward well, finding Vaz Te for a shot early on, and coped well when forced to switch to right-back after Demel's injury.

    James Collins

Towering at the back, made some good headers and kept Rodallega very quiet with a physical display. His header was the catalyst for the opening goal.

    Guy Demel

Looked assured on the ball as the Hammers dominated, but was forced off injured in the second half.

  • Kevin Nolan

    Kevin Nolan

Came back from an offside position and found himself unmarked to drill a great effort into the bottom corner. Had a good game, linking well with Carroll in what should be a good partnership for Allardyce.

  • Matthew Taylor

    Matthew Taylor

His deliveries into the box were always likely to cause Fulham some panic with Carroll making his debut, and his corner for Reid's goal had everything. Took his goal well, driving it low and into the corner.

  • Mark Noble

    Mark Noble

Orchestrated from deep in the midfield with Nolan pushed further forward. Shielded the back four well.

Strong on the ball and played some nice passes, but had a pretty quiet game.

    Ricardo Vaz Te

Read Carroll's flick on well to get onto the ball and lay it off for Nolan's opener. Looked lively, and though he could have done better with his efforts at goal, he caused some trouble for the visitors.

  • Andy Carroll

    Andy Carroll

Was effective as early as the opening minute, flicking on a clearance for the opening goal, and looked in the mood throughout. Played a part in all three goals, keeping defenders occupied and winning knock downs before succumbing to injury in the second half.

    Carlton Cole

Replaced Carroll but found his chances limited. Lost control of the ball when a better first touch might have seen him through on goal.

    Robert Hall

Came on to replace the injured Demel, but did not have much time to impress as the tempo dropped.

  • Mark Schwarzer

    Mark Schwarzer

Had no chance with the opener, but made a real blunder for the second, trying to get to the ball from the corner and being left in no-man's land as Reid nodded home. Could do nothing again as Taylor smashed the third past him into the corner but almost conceded a fourth from a free-kick.

    John Arne Riise

Returned after missing the trip to Old Trafford but struggled as West Ham dominated. Did well to contain Vaz Te for most of the first half, but lost him in the opening minute for the first goal.

    Brede Hangeland

Struggled a lot under the high ball facing up against Carroll. Almost got a goal back, but could not quite get enough on a header before the break.

  • Aaron Hughes

    Aaron Hughes

With Hangeland tasked with keeping Carroll quiet, Hughes had a vital job in winning the second ball - something he failed to do effectively.

    Sascha Riether

Had a poor game at right-back and almost gave away a penalty on two occasions in the first half, shoving Carroll in the back twice.

    Steve Sidwell

Was one of Fulham's more impressive players throughout the course of the game and pressed harder than his team-mates.

    Damien Duff

Along with Sidwell, was one of Fulham's better players, but did not get much time on the ball as Fulham struggled.

    Mahamadou Diarra

Is yet to really show the class of a player who previously featured for Real Madrid. Ineffective in the middle, losing key aerial battles including the one against Winston Reid for the second goal.

  • Kieran Richardson

    Kieran Richardson

His first involvement in a Fulham shirt was a shot from long range that tested Jaaskelainen, but he struggled in a perhaps unfamiliar role as part of a midfield three before being subbed in the second half.

  • Mladen Petric

    Mladen Petric

Looked lively when involved, sending in a good shot that was blocked by James Collins, but was ineffective overall and sacrificed at half-time for Berbatov.

  • Hugo Rodallega

    Hugo Rodallega

Another poor performance from a Fulham player on the day, the striker was fortunate to see partner Petric subbed instead. Did not take advantage of the fact with all his subsequent shots disappointing.

    Alexander Kacaniklic

Looked sprightly when he came on, and linked well with Berbatov, but Fulham had already lost the game.

  • Dimitar Berbatov

    Dimitar Berbatov

Came on to make his debut at half-time, and showed some real class on the ball that had been lacking in the first half. Might have been a different story had he started.
