Malaysia Super League champions, Kelantan swept Sarawak aside 3-1 in Kota Bharu to end the season in style

Malaysia Super League champions Kelantan swept Sarawak aside 3-1 in Kota Bharu. Though without several key players, Kelantan did not have much trouble taming the Crocs as Norfarhan and Badri Radzi finished their chances to end the season in style.

Kelantan fans streamed into the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium Kota Bharu to witness the historical moment of Badhri Radzi lifting up the much coveted Super League trophy.

The match was balanced at the start however with Sarawak seeming to be the more cautious team in their movements. Kelantan didn’t wait long to attack Sarawak as Badhri Radzi almost opened the scoring but was denied by the Crocs goalkeeper.

After finding their rhythm, Sarawak slowly attacked Kelantan and created several chances. Yet, their blunt attack meant that it was goalless until the end of the first half.

The Red Warriors were keen not to end their wonderful season with a bore draw and they started aggressively in the second period. Kelantan’s captain marvel, Badhri Radzi was first to put his name on the scoresheet as he scored his eighth goal of the season after swerving the ball into the net from a free kick.

Norfarhan Muhammad showed his lethal instincts as he managed to add two further goals. He finished Norhahrul’s pass in the 65th minute with style by lobbing the ball over the keeper. Within two minutes, Badhri Radzi’s through pass was once again brilliantly struck by Norfarhan to make it three-nil.

Hairol Mokhtar gave the Crocs a glimmer of hope as he managed to beat Khairul Fahmi with a header in the 69th minute following a freekick from the Cameroon midfielder Guy Bwele.

Towards the end of the match, S. Subramaniam put Kelantan under pressure as he gave away a penalty kick. However Joel Epalle’s penalty was saved by Khairul Fahmi to end the match in Kelantan’s favour by three goals to one.
