Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is likely to rotate his squad for the visit of Sevilla after Wednesday's penalty shoot-out defeat to Bayern Munich.

Gonzalo Higuain, Kaka and Esteban Granero are all pushing for returns to the starting XI, but Ricardo Carvalho (thigh) remains a doubt.

Sevilla will welcome back goalkeeper Andres Palop, who has overcome his calf problem, whilst Emir Spahic has also returned to fitness and could replace the injured Julien Escude in defence.

Los Nervionenses coach Michel will also be without the services of injured duo Frederic Kanoute and Diego Perotti, while Gary Medel and Manu del Moral are suspended.

  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last 19 league matches (W16, D3).
  • Los Blancos can clinch the Primera Division title with victory against Sevilla, provided Barcelona lose at Rayo Vallecano later on Sunday.
  • With 42 goals to his name, Cristiano Ronaldo (pictured right) is on track to become the first player since Hugo Sanchez to retain the top scorer title in La Liga. Sanchez won four straight 'Pichichi' awards between 1985-88.
  • Sevilla have won just three of their last 11 away matches in La Liga.
  • The Andalusians have lost their last six meetings with Madrid. Their last win at the Bernabeu was a 4-3 success in December 2008.
  • Only Barcelona (26) and Madrid (30) have conceded fewer goals in the Primera Division this term than Sevilla (39).
