The goalkeeper had little to do throughout the game, but could have intervened much better for Ya Konan's wonderstrike. Was off his line, and will be disappointed he could not keep this one out.
Was forced to leave the pitch after a painful collision with Mame Biram Diouf early on.
Often committed petty fouls, but generally made sure the job is done in defence. Joined the attacks often, but should take the blame for missing an easy chance in the first half, and volleying a simple opportunity into the stands.

The midfielder often failed to track the runs of Kagawa, but all in all provided great cover of his defence. Kept it simple on the ball, and tackled well.

The former Manchester United striker will be remembered more for his physical play than anything he did with the ball. Collided with Bender and as a result the Germany international had to be taken off, and got booked for a horrible challenge on Piszczek. All in all, he was anonymous.
Put in a lot of effort as he chased the ball with fiery passion, but his emotions got the better of him on some occasions. Showed some good touches and made a few telling passes.
Completely anonymous performance from the former Bayern Munich man, who was shut out by Dortmund's defensive midfield. Saw little of the ball and was substituted after the break.
