Sri Lanka beat Bhutan 5-2 in the last Group B encounter in the SAFF Championship with Mohamed Naufer getting four goals (19', 26', 50', 90') with the other goal being scored by Pema Dorji. The two Bhutan goals came from Passam Tshering in the 45th minute and Sonam Tenzing in the 58th minute.

Goalkeeper Mohamed N. Mohamed Imran returned from suspension, besides which, Claudio Roberto's side made only one change from his last line-up, replacing Tuwan Rizvi Tuwan Rizni with Mohideen Mohamed Rawme.

With Bhutan goalkeeper Leki Dukpa suspended for the tie due a red card against Maldives, Hemlal Bhattrai stepped in his place. Kazunori Ohara meanwhile opted for Nima Sanjay and Sonam Yoezer in place of Tshering Dorji and Chencho Nio.

Both sides were looking to put on their best display in the opening minutes before Chencho Gyeltshen was guilty of putting down an opportunity in a ninth minute counter-attack launched by Bhutan.

Yeshey Dorji's following attempt in the 17th minute went wide of the right post, while it was Sri Lanka who opened the scoring two minutes later when Mohamed Naufer Mohamed Issadeen knocked in a cross by Dananju Madushan De Silva from the left wing cross on his second attempt.

FIXTURES/RESULTS
Mohamed Nazrullah Fazaluzzaman could have made it 2-0 in the 22nd minute, but his speculative volley went wide of the mark. However, four minutes later, a backheel pass by Issadeen was weakly cleared by Bhattrai and fell to the Sri Lankan striker who converted with ease.

Bhutan's reply in the form of Chencho's long range attempt was deflected by the Sri Lankan defense at the half hour mark but things got even worse for them.

Dananju Madushan De Silva ran across the left flank and his attempted delivery into the box was deflected by Pema Dorji into his own net in the 32nd minute.

Bhutan's second choice goalkeeper's positioning was at fault for all the goals, while his counterpart Imran had a relatively peaceful evening in keeping Gyeltshen's effort at bay.

However, that was until Imran was caught out of position in the 41st minute, but Gyeltshen wasn't able to control the ball before it was cleared away.

It took a defensive lapse from the Islanders, with Yeshey Dorji effectively stealing the ball to cross back to Passang Tshering who pulled one back for the Bhutan Eleven in the 45th minute.

After the lemon break, Issadeen completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute, driving home a through ball from Mohideen Mohamed Rawme.

Sonam Tenzing flashed a volley wide from a Tshering Wangdi cross, to reduce the margin in the 58th minute.

De Silva squandered his chance from the penalty spot in the 76th minute, while Bhutanese strikers Tenzing and Gyeltshen on the rebound were both denied by Imran in the 89th minute.

Issadeen (90+3') went on to score his fourth goal with a lovely pass from Sri Lankan substitute Sanka Danushka during injury time.
