    Nick Rimando

Not asked to make a ton of saves, but dealt with a number of balls with his feet and did well to clear the danger whenever his defenders needed a hand.

  • DaMarcus Beasley

    DaMarcus Beasley

Like Parkhurst on the other side, didn't get forward as much this game as he has throughout the tournament because of Panama's pace, but did alright with his defensive responsibilities and delivered a couple of good crosses.

  • Michael Parkhurst

    Michael Parkhurst

Didn't get forward down the right a lot, but did well enough to keep tabs on Quintero.

  • C. Goodson

    C. Goodson

Strong showing for Goodson, who has stated his case for regular minutes with the national team throughout this Gold Cup. Won most of his aerial battles with Perez and showed plenty of pace when Panama was on the break.

  • Matt Besler

    Matt Besler

Very assured showing once again as the USA dominated possession. Dealt well with Perez and Torres, but had a couple of loose passes out of the back as well.

  • J. Corona

    2.00

    J. Corona

Not much of an impact in the first half and came off in the 67th minute before doing much in the second frame.

  • Stuart Holden

    2.00

    Stuart Holden

Overcooked a couple of balls early on and then left the game with an injury before being able to make much of an impact.

  • Kyle Beckerman

    3.00

    Kyle Beckerman

Beckerman put in yet another solid game as the USA's defensive midfielder, winning more than his share of tackles in the centre of the park and keeping possession well enough without really doing anything dynamic.

  • Alejandro Bedoya

    0
    3.00

    Alejandro Bedoya

Didn't have the same impact that he had on the semi-final, with Rodriguez doing a nice job of keeping tabs on him, but managed to play the ball in to Donovan that set the stage for the USA's opener.

  • Eddie Johnson
    0
    0
    2.50

    Eddie Johnson

Some good play with his back to goal in the early stages as the USA looked to find a way through, but was often isolated with two centre-backs tracking him. Had one glorious chance to finish the match off and put it over the top.

  • Landon Donovan

    Landon Donovan

Ineffective in the first half as he wasn't on the ball much. Did better coming out in the second half but missed a golden chance to open the scoring in the 56th minute with a header. Set up the opener when his mistake in front of goal worked out well for Brek Shea.

Substitutions

  • Omar Gonzalez

    Omar Gonzalez

Came on right at the end and won a few headers to help kill off Panama's late push.

  • M. Diskerud

    M. Diskerud

Showed a lot of energy after replacing Holden and was arguably the USA's best player throughout much of the game.

  • Brek Shea

    3.00

    Brek Shea

Came on for Corona and netted the opener in the easiest of fashion, with his first touch of the ball. Gets credit for getting in the right spot at the right time, though. Had a chance to double the lead but wouldn't take it on with his right foot.

  • J. Penedo

    J. Penedo

Not tested too many times and not at all at fault for the USA's goal.

  • Leonel Parrish

    Leonel Parrish

Part of a good collective defensive effort but was exposed in one-on-ones and offered nothing going forward. Got into a shoving match with Eddie Johnson.

  • C. Rodríguez

    2.50

    C. Rodríguez

Did very well not only to keep the left side of his defense solid, but in dipping inside to help out when needed.

  • R. Torres

    R. Torres

Very solid in the first half in dealing with Johnson and Donovan; won almost every challenge that came his way.

  • Roberto Chen

    3.00

    Roberto Chen

Cut out some very dangerous plays and always seemed to be in the mix of the action.

  • G. Gómez
    0

    3.00

    G. Gómez

A real strength for his team in midfield. Teamed with Godoy and did a lot of work to protect Panama's back line.

  • M. Sánchez

    2.50

    M. Sánchez

Put pressure on Beasley down Panama's right and got off a couple of good crosses in the process.

  • Quintero
    0
    0
    2.00

    Quintero

Used his pace to put the United States under pressure on the counter, but couldn't find the final ball.

  • Aníbal Cesis Godoy

    3.00

    Aníbal Cesis Godoy

Put in a strong shift helping out defensively and spread the ball wide well when he had the time to make a pass.

  • B. Pérez
    0
    0
    3.00

    B. Pérez

He and Gabriel Torres were largely isolated in the first 45, with Godson and Besler doing a nice job of keeping them in check, but you can't question the amount of work Perez put in, fighting with Goodson throughout the match.

  • Gabriel Torres
    0
    0
    1.50

    Gabriel Torres

A threat throughout the tournament but really didn't cause the USA's defence too many problems in the first half as Panama sat back and absorbed the pressure. Was brought off in the second half and was really a non-factor.

Substitutions

  • J. Jiménez
    0
    0
    2.00

    J. Jiménez

Came on in the second half but didn't do much to help swing the flow of the game.

  • R. Blackburn
    0
    0
    1.50

    R. Blackburn

Came on with just over 15 minutes left to play and had very little impact.
