Had little to do in the first half as Villa were restricted to long shots at goal but was well beaten by Kozak's half-volley which hit the bar. Rushed to close down El Ahmadi for his goal but didn't get close to the Villa midfielder. Had no chance of stopping Westwood's equaliser.

    Steven Reid

Had a solid game at right-back but the 32-year-old was rarely tested due to Villa's lack of width on the left.

    Jonas Olsson

Handled Benteke impeccably alongside McAuley and was given little trouble by the Belgium international. Let down by Popov's woeful clearance which allowed Villa to steal a point.

Was posed few problems in the first half as Villa opted to play narrow but the 29-year-old's abysmal header from Agbonlahor's cross fell to Westwood, whose strike secured a point for the visitors. Was brought off for Anichebe not long after the mistake.

    Gareth McAuley

Coped well with the threat of Kozak and Benteke alongside Olsson and restricted the chances of Villa's attacking duo to mainly long-distance efforts.

    Claudio Yacob

Kept West Brom flowing with pass after pass. Rarely looked flustered alongside Mulumbu and worked well to overcome Villa's three-man midfield before Lambert changed his side's system.

His excellent 45-yard pass assisted Long's opening goal and the 28-year-old always provided West Brom with an outlet on the left flank.

    Morgan Amalfitano

Constantly attacked Clark on West Brom's right flank and provided an excellent cross for Sessegnon, who squandered the chance from close range. Faded as the game progressed.

    Youssouf Mulumbu

Was often West Brom's driving force in central midfield and showed good composure on the ball alongside the equally impressive Yacob. Booked.

Missed a great chance to put West Brom three ahead from five yards out. Squandered another opportunity from close range after the break which would have put his side out of sight. Brought off for Morrison after 73 minutes.

Opened the scoring after three minutes with a superb first touch and driven finish. Doubled his tally with a deft chip over Guzan. Looked lively all evening and was West Brom's brightest outlet.

Could do little about either of Long's goals in the first half since both were fine finishes. Wasn't tested as much in the second half as Villa crept back into the game.

    Nathan Baker

The 22-year-old was completely outfoxed by Long's excellent first touch for the opening goal and couldn't get close enough to the Republic of Ireland international for his second of the evening.

    Ron Vlaar

The centre-back's last-ditch challenge denied Long a chance to seal his hat-trick in the 29th minute. Looked the more solid of Villa's centre-back duo.

    Leandro Bacuna

His loose pass was intercepted by Long and the striker took full advantage of the mistake to put West Brom two ahead. A poor cross from the right-back in the 67th minute resulted in Villa scoring their goal, however.

    Karim El Ahmadi

Showed good alertness inside West Brom's box to bounce on Weimann's header and steer the ball past Myhill. Overall, the 28-year-old could have been better in possession in Villa's midfield.
