SHB Da Nang FC will be hosting Burma’s Ayeyawady United in the third match of the 2013 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup season at the Chi Lang Stadium.

Formerly known as Workers FC, the Vietnamese side will go into this game with a strong attacking line-up.

Da Nang coach, Le Huynh Duc, is a former striker for Vietnam and would want more goals in a home fixture.

However, the three-time V-league champions will be without centre-back Chau Le Phuoc Vinh who is out with an injury.

Ayeyawady United will be looking to exploit a weakened Da Nang back line with Brazilian, Leandro Duarte, leading the attack. His pace upfront could cause major problems for the home side.

Coach Marjan Sekulovski should choos not to take any risks by opting for the standard 4-4-2 formation in his first ever AFC Cup competition, especially after his team only managed one win from the last five matches.

The Macedonian comes into this fixture as an underdog against a more consistent Da Nang side who have recorded two wins in their last five.

  • Da Nang FC’s coach, Le Huynh Duc, is a former Vietnam international striker who holds the record for the most number of caps achieved with the national football team. No one has beaten his record of 60 caps.

  • The Vietnamese side’s best performance in the AFC Cup was in 2010 when they crashed out in the quarter-finals.

  • Ayeyawady United will be entering their second ever AFC Cup - the first was last year but they never made it out of the group stage.

  • Currently placed 5th, Ayeyawady has never won the Myanmar National League.
