Parried a couple of long-range efforts from Ronaldo in the first half but was beaten by the Portugal international's penalty in the 13th minute. Could do nothing about Ronaldo's second and Varane's thumping header.

  • Daniel Alves

    Daniel Alves

Put in a fantastic last-ditch tackle on Ronaldo to stop him in mid flight in the 26th minute as Madrid threatened. Failed to get into the kind of attacking areas that normally make him so dangerous as Coentrao defended competently.

  • Jordi Alba

    Jordi Alba

Tracked the runs of Di Maria well in the first half and helped out in an attacking sense when Barcelona pushed forward, but was caught out on a handful of occasions after half-time as Madrid added further goals. Scored a late consolation with an angled finish.

  • Piqué

    Piqué Flop of the Match

Caught Ronaldo in the 12th minute which led to the referee booking him and awarding Madrid a penalty, from which they took the lead. Couldn't handle the pace and power of Ronaldo as Madrid romped to victory.

  • Carles Puyol

    Carles Puyol

The veteran centre-back was booked for protesting in the 40th minute after a series of fouls from players on his team before being beaten easily by Di Maria in the build-up to Madrid's second goal. His age and lack of mobility caught up with him against Madrid's vibrant attack.

  • Busquets

    5

    Busquets

Very quiet in midfield for the Catalan giants as Madrid's pivot of Khedira and Alonso dominated that area.

  • Cesc Fàbregas

    Cesc Fàbregas

Had little impact on the game playing in midfield. Would have been better suited to the game had he switched with Iniesta to play in attack. Subbed off for Villa on the hour mark.

  • Andrés Iniesta Luján

    Andrés Iniesta Luján

Was arguably his side's best player in a fairly one-sided contest. He curled an effort just wide after 28 minutes and did well to win a free kick on the cusp of the Madrid box after being hacked down by Arbeloa before the break. Faded after the interval before bursting into life to provide a sensational chipped assist for Alba's late consolation goal.

  • Xavi

    Xavi

The experienced Spain international was neat and tidy on the ball without finding the kind of penetrating passes needed to open up Madrid's well-organised defence. Was replaced by Thiago late in the game.

  • Lionel Messi

    1.50

    Lionel Messi

The Ballon d'Or winner failed to have an impact in this second leg as Madrid's defence shackled him effectively. He flickered occasionally holding the ball up in the first half but his shooting was wayward as Barcelona only found the net late on through Alba.

  • Pedro

    Pedro

The enthusiastic forward made a bright start as he set up Messi for a chance in the 2nd minute but that was his best contribution all game. Felt he should have two penalties either side of half-time but the referee thought otherwise. Replaced by Tello late on.

    David Villa

Replaced Fabregas after 60 minutes but had no chances to alter the narrative of the match.

  • Tello

    Tello

Brought on for Pedro in the closing stages. Forced Lopez into a fine save after curling a right foot shot at goal.

    Diego López Rodríguez

Had little to do in the first half but was forced into action shortly after the break when he stopped Busquets' powerful strike. Parried Tello's curling shot away late on before being beaten at his near post by Alba.

  • Arbeloa
    12
    1
    3.50

    Arbeloa

Gave away a cheap free kick on the edge of his own area after hacking the former to the floor in the 37th minute, but improved massively after the break as Madrid took greater control of the game.

  • Fabio Coentrao

    3.50

    Fabio Coentrao

Reliable at left-back for Madrid. The only time he failed to stop Pedro was in the 2nd minute, when the Spain international created a chance for Messi. Apart from that he was confident both on and off the ball.

  • Raphaël Varane
    42

    4.50

    Raphaël Varane

The 19-year-old was fantastic again for los Blancos, as they limited the impact of Messi with some quick pressing and well-timed tackling. The centre-back also rose highest to head home Madrid's third which meant he scored in both legs of the tie.

  • Sergio Ramos
    13

    3.50

    Sergio Ramos

Came within a whisker of diverting Alonso's curling free kick on target at the end of the first half. Hassled Barcelona's attackers supremely and marshalled his team well as they held out for a deserved victory.

  • Ángel Di María
    20

    4.00

    Ángel Di María

Was brilliant as an outlet for his team as they looked to break with pace whenever they had the ball. Did very well to jinx past Puyol and set up Ronaldo for Madrid's second goal. A tireless performance from the nippy Argentine.

  • Mesut Özil
    20

    Mesut Özil

Flicked a neat pass through to Higuain in the 29th minute only for play to be brought back with the Argentine set to make it 2-0. Linked well with Di Maria and Ronaldo on the counterattack. Subbed off late on for Pepe.

  • Sami Khedira
    15
    1
    3.50

    Sami Khedira

The German midfielder was industrious in midfield for his side, as he and Alonso outclassed Barcelona's trio of Fabregas, Xavi and Busquets. Provided the scything pass that set Di Maria free when Madrid scored their second.

  • Xabi Alonso
    15

    Xabi Alonso

Sprayed some magnificent passes about from his central midfield berth. Looked very comfortable playing alongside Khedira.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo Top of the Match

Scored in his sixth consecutive Clasico at Camp Nou when he won and converted a penalty for Madrid in the 14th minute before adding a calmly-taken second shortly after half-time. Was crucial to Madrid's brilliant performance as he acted as the springboard for their blistering counterattacks. Stepped up again when his team needed him to.

  • Gonzalo Higuaín
    10
    2
    3.00

    Gonzalo Higuaín

Had a goal chalked off for offside in the 29th minute after being played in by Ozil. The attacker was not quite on the same wavelength as his team-mates despite working hard. Replaced by Callejon after 70 minutes.

Substitutions

  • Pepe

    Pepe

Introduced in the closing stages as Mourinho's men eased to a 3-0 win and a place in the Copa del Rey final.

  • José Callejón

    José Callejón

Brought on with 20 minutes to go and kept the ball well as Madrid cruised to victory.
