Wilfried Bony's future at Swansea City undecided - Graham Potter

Wilfried Bony's future at Swansea City will depend on how his rehabilitation goes, says manager Graham Potter.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig this summer following the Swans' relegation to the second tier of the English league.

Bony completed a permanent return to the Liberty Stadium last summer but his second stint has been ravaged by injuries.

The Cote d'Ivoire international managed just two goals in 15 league games last term before damaging his anterior cruciate ligament against Leicester City on February 3 - his last competitive game for the Swans.

Ahead of his side's visit to Birmingham City for Saturday's Championship fixture, Potter disclosed that the former Manchester City attacker is making significant progress and he is not 'too far away from joining training'.

"He is making good progress, he is not too far away from joining the group," Potter was quoted as saying by Wales Online .

"He is a great character to have around, he supports the boys and he should not be too far away from joining training.

"I would not say [the club's stance] it has changed, we know what he offers.

"It is nice to have someone like him around, but we know the situation on the restructuring of the squad and he is aware of that too. He is a good person.

"It will depend on how his rehabilitation goes but he is getting closer and closer. I imagine we’ll see him in the group soon so it’s a case of seeing from there.

Swansea City will be aiming to build on their winning run at the St. Andrew's Stadium having won their last two league games.
