VIDEO: Liverpool signing Solanke sends England into U20 World Cup semi-finals

Liverpool's new signing Dominic Solanke was the hero for England's Under-20 side as his goal against Mexico sent the Three Lions into the FIFA U-20 World Cup semi-finals.

The striker agreed to move to Anfield from Chelsea after his contract expired and is showing Reds fans what he is capable of with the national side in South Korea. Solanke scored the only goal of the game just after half-time, when Lewis Cook found him in the area with an excellent through ball.

Paul Simpson's side will now meet Italy in the last four, with Uruguay and Venezuela contesting the other semi-final. England will have to play without Tottenham attacker Josh Onomah, who was sent off 18 minutes from time against Mexico after standing on Juan Aguayo.

England have never won the competition, and last reached this stage of the tournament back in 1993 with a squad containing Nicky Butt, David Unsworth and Nick Barmby.
