U17 World Cup: Rhian Brewster, Abel Ruiz, Lassana N'Diaye in Golden Boot race

England and Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster is currently leading the U17 World Cup 2017 Golden Boot race with seven goals from five games.

Six goals in his seven-goal tally are consecutive hat-tricks scored in the last two knockout rounds against USA and Brazil. He scored just the one goal in the group stage and it came against Mexico in a Group F encounter that the Young Lions won 3-2.

Mali's Lassana N'Diaye and Spain's Abel Ruiz closely follow with six goals from as many games, with the duo standing a chance to grab the Golden Boot should either score more than Brewster's count after England's clash in the final against the La Rojita on Saturday.

Ruiz had opened his account with a brace against Niger in Spain's 4-0 win over the U17 World Cup debutants in Group D. He went on to score the 90th minute penalty that eliminated France in the Round of 16 and has since scored at least once from open play against Iran and Mali, against whom he also converted another penalty.

Mali's Lassana N'Diaye has scored apiece in each of his side's Group B fixtures against Paraguay, Turkey and New Zealand. He followed that up with a brace in Mali's 5-1 win over Iraq and last scored against Spain that ended up in a losing cause.

Meanwhile, given that Germany and France are out of the competition, Jann-Fiete Arp and Amine Gouiri who are currently on the five-goal mark are not guaranteed of a top-five finish as a host of potential scorers from the last four can possibly breach that mark.

The final between England and Spain will be preceded by Brazil taking on Mali in the battle for the third place on Saturday, October 28.
