Bale to decide Madrid future next week


Manchester United are on alert as Gareth Bale is set for a meeting with Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui to determine his future with the club, reports the Mirror.

Bale’s Madrid future appeared to be more secure following the departure of both Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, but could come into question should the club bring in the likes of Eden Hazard.

If the Wales international wishes to leave, the Red Devils are ready to offer a £90 million ($119m) bid to secure him.

Blind closes in on €21m Man Utd exit


Manchester United are on the verge of agreeing to the sale of Daley Blind to Ajax for up to €21 million (£19m/$25m).

The Dutch side look set to part with an initial €16m (£14m/$19m), with the rest of the fee dependent on Blind’s form on his return to the Amsterdam ArenA.

United are keen to get the deal wrapped up sooner rather than later, and the versatile defender is set to miss the Red Devils’ flight to the USA on Sunday for their summer tour as he looks to tie up the move.

AC Milan are pondering a move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to a report in Corriere dello Sport.

According to the newspaper, the Rossoneri's new owners, Elliott, are open to the idea of recruiting Higuain as they attempt to steer the club back towards former heights. However, they are likely to face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are also reported to be keen.

The Argentina international, who joined Juve from Napoli in a €90 million (£80m/$105m) transfer two seasons ago, faces a fight for his place in the Bianconeri team following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Barca wait on Marlon Santos decision


Barcelona are waiting to see if Southampton will still finalise a move for Marlon Santos following the Premier League club’s signing of Jannik Vestergaard, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Vestergaard joined Southampton in an £18 million ($24m) deal from Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday, just days after they were also looking to sign Marlon Santos for €12m (£11m/$14m).

Now Barcelona are unsure if Southampton will still want to add Marlon Santos to their squad after already improving their defensive options with the capture of Vestergaard.


West Ham complete record £33.5m Felipe Anderson deal


West Ham have completed the signing of Felipe Anderson from Lazio, with the deal expected to cost them a club record £33.5 million ($44m).

The attacking midfielder has signed a four-year deal with the Premier League club after spending five seasons in Serie A, where he scored 25 goals and set up 28 in 137 league appearances.

Sarri had Higuain at Napoli and is hoping to seal a deal with Juventus to secure a reunion, while offering Morata a return to Turin as bait.

Higuain’s arrival would likely spell the end of Giroud’s short time at Stamford Bridge, with clubs aware of his availability.


Man Utd make £30m Bonucci bid


Jose Mourinho is ready to take advantage of AC Milan’s money woes with a £30 million ($40m) bid for Leonardo Bonucci, reports the Daily and Sunday Express.

The defender joined Milan last summer from Juventus, but the club need to raise £45m ($60m) in funds before the window closes.

Bonucci is one of the players who will be allowed to depart and Mourinho hopes to take advantage of that with a bid.

Chelsea have already landed Maurizio Sarri as manager and midfielder Jorginho from the Serie A club.

And to keep Sarri from raiding them any further, Napoli have placed a high base price for the defender, which could reach nine figures with add ons.


Spurs looking at Pavard as Alderweireld replacement


France international Benjamin Pavard is one of the few candidates Tottenham have to replace Toby Alderweireld should the defender leave, reports the Mirror.

The Stuttgart man had played right-back for France at the World Cup but primarily plays centrally for the Bundesliga club.

Everton were after Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, but will turn their attention to Genoa’s wing-back, who featured at left-back for Uruguay in Russia, after having the Scottish Premiership side rebuff their offers.

Both the Toffees and Cherries need bodies at the position with just Leighton Baines and Charlie Daniels, respectively, at that spot.
