Shehu Abdullahi rewarded by Sokoto state government

Nigeria international Shehu Abdullahi has been rewarded with cash and land gifts by the Sokoto state government.

The defender who featured in the Super Eagles’ failed mission in Russia visited governor Aminu Tambuwal on Monday, and in return – he was rewarded for his exemplary role in the senior national team.

Aside from the monetary gift to support his foundation, he also got a sponsorship to the holy pilgrimage in Mecca.

To his remarks, Abdullahi thanks the governor for his kind gesture stating that he is pleased to be a good ambassador of the Seat of the Caliphate.

“I want to appreciate governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for the honour today. The Governor gifted me a house, land to build my Sports Complex, sponsorship to Hajj & cash to support my foundation. I'm honoured to be blessed in my State & I'm delighted to be a good ambassador,” he tweeted.

“I'm dedicating this amazing moment to you all for the support from the beginning.”

According to close sources, the land will be used to build the Shehu Abdullahi Sports Complex.
