Samuel Eto’o loses penalty as Antalyaspor bow to Kayserispor

Samuel Eto’o failed to lift Antalyaspor after missing a penalty in their 2-0 defeat to Kayserispor in the Kadir Has Stadium on Friday.

The former Cameroon international had an attempt to increase his goal tally to two in five games after referee Kemal Ugurlu pointed to the penalty spot to punish Aleksandr Kucher.

Senegal’s Stephane Badji got the curtain raiser in the first minute of the encounter with an audacious strike which marks his first league goal since his arrival from Anderlecht in June.

In the 65th minute, Eto’o had an opportunity to grab the equaliser for the Scorpions but could not place his shot past goalkeeper Silviu Lung.

Umut Bulut sealed the victory and ensured Marius Șumudica’s men continue their bright start to the season with his strike in 77th minute.

Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan was an unused substitute for Kayserispor as they move to the third spot on the log with 10 points from five games while Antalyaspor who are yet to record a win in the Turkish Super Lig will welcome Osmanlıspor on September 25 for their next league fixture.
