Notts County bid to avoid relegation... by signing their own MANAGER!

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan has registered himself as a player as the club bids to avoid relegation from League Two.

County have won just one of their last 10 games and sit 21st in the table, just one point clear of Leyton Orient, in the relegation zone.

And with the season approaching its climax, Nolan has signed a playing deal with the club, following the lifting of the club’s transfer embargo.

“It was always Kevin's intention to register as a player and I'm delighted to confirm we have now completed the formalities,” chairman Alan Hardy told the club’s official website.

“He will of course need to continue building his fitness but, when he's ready, I'm confident we will have one of, if not the, best midfielders in the league.”

Nolan spent the majority of his career in the Premier League, playing for Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and West Ham.
