Nigeria's Ogenyi Onazi overturns decision to quit Trabzonspor

Nigeria international, Ogenyi Onazi has reversed his decisions to quit his Turkish club, Trabzonspor after receiving assurances from the club over his salary.

The Super Eagles midfielder announced his departure from the club on Tuesday owing to his employers’ inability to pay his salary for two months before the end of the 2016/17 season.

But the player’s representative, Ayodele Makinwa said the management of the Black Sea Storm has assured that his client will get his payment as at when due.

"To be clear, we never asked for any financial improvement or whatsoever," Makinwa told BBC Sport.

"We settled the differences with additional guarantees with regards payment,"

"It's an avoidable and unnecessary problem but both parties have come out with a mutual understanding now."

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has now joined his colleagues for their pre-season training with the Turkish club.
