VIDEO: Lyon's Valbuena scores sensational goal... while injured!

When Lyon midfielder Mathieu Valbuena began to hobble with around six minutes to play in the first-half of his side's Ligue 1 clash with Nancy on Wednesday, it seemed inevitable his game would end in frustration.

However, only 15 seconds later the French international broke the deadlock in stunning fashion... before immediately being substituted!

The 32-year-old looked in some pain after appearing to pick up a hamstring injury but he just couldn't resist running onto a pass when space opened up on the edge of the area and then pulled off the unthinkable by curling the ball into the top corner to give his side a crucial lead.

Valbuena's celebrations were muted and realising his game was over, his team mates immediately alerted the bench to signal the midfielder needed to be replaced.

Lyon went onto win the game 4-0 with striker Nabil Fekir doubling the lead two minutes before the break which was followed by an Alexandre Lacazette penalty and a Memphis Depay strike in the second period.
