MSL2017 Best Players: #1 Ignacio Insa Bohigues

Goal count down the Best Players from the top competitions in the Malaysian football season in 2017, and here's number 1.

Also goes by the name Natxo Insa, the 31-year-old midfielder has taken Malaysian football by storm since arriving at Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the middle of the 2017 season. While only playing half of the season, his performances does nothing but indicates very clearly, that he's the best player playing in the M-League.

After helping Levante to a promotion and a place in the 2017-18 Spanish La Liga season, Insa went on to help JDT to the Super League as well as the Malaysia Cup triumphs. Close to 18 months of continuous club football is no small feat.

An all-rounder in the centre of the park, Insa is the box-to-box midfielder thriving at the Southern Tigers. His touch and control are sublime, his awareness and precision is uncanny. Insa's ability to just come in and played like he's been playing with the rest of his JDT team mates for years, meant that there was little to none adaptation period for him.

Insa has stated that 2018 will be the year that he will be ready to put on the Malaysia national team jersey, and judging from his performances thus far, it will be exciting to see how he will perform for the Malayan Tigers. 

If JDT are to make it through to the group stage of the 2018 AFC Champions League, Insa will surely be the fulcrum of the side that will need to battle it's way past two qualifying matches.
