Liverpool Team News: Injuries, suspensions & line-up vs West Brom

Liverpool are determined to make it seven games unbeaten on the spin and further solidify their Champions League ambitions when they visit West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

A victory would be the Reds' first in the Premier League at the Hawthorns since October 2011.

Klopp confident Coutinho will stay

Only once in the previous seven seasons have the Merseysiders been in the top three at this stage of the campaign.

LIVERPOOL INJURIES

Sadio Mane's surgery to correct the meniscus damage in his left knee was successful and the winger is set for a two-month recovery period.

Both Adam Lallana (thigh) and Jordan Henderson (foot) are "better, but not good enough for the weekend" according to the Reds boss.

Klopp slams questions over tactics

Neither have rejoined the group in training yet, with Klopp explaining: “With Jordan, it was clear from the beginning that it’s not a fixed time until he is back. We have to wait until he feels absolutely nothing, that’s how it is.

"That’s what we are still waiting for. In all of what he is doing at the moment, he feels nothing, but we have to make steps still, steps to go [so] that he can be part of team training.

“With Adam, it is a little bit easier to say. I am pretty sure after the Crystal Palace game, he will probably be in normal training and that means then [for Watford] he is in the squad or we can think about him then.

“For the Watford game again, with Jordan it could be next week in training, could be the week after, but I think we are in a good way with him also. Everything will be good and I am pretty sure he will have a few games in this season.”

LIVERPOOL SUSPENSIONS

Neither side have any suspension concerns to contend with.

LIVERPOOL POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

In the absence of Mane, Lallana and Henderson, Klopp could opt to stick with the 3-5-2 formation used in the 2-1 win at Stoke especially since another 'ugly battle' is expected at the Hawthorns.

Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho will return to the first XI, with James Milner set to move back to the left flank.

Who Liverpool should sell this summer

Divock Origi was absent from the club's training photos on Wednesday and if he is not fit enough to feature, Daniel Sturridge could make his first start since the 2-2 draw at Sunderland on January 2.

WEST BROM TEAM NEWS

Tony Pulis’s side have failed to score in five of their last six Premier League matches with Southampton, Manchester United, Watford, Everton and Crystal Palace all shutting them out.

The hosts are still on course for a club-record points total, though. Currently eighth, they need six points from the final six games to achieve the feat.

“We should be at our best, because West Brom have played an outstanding season," Klopp warned at Melwood on Thursday.

"OK, the last two results, or maybe three results, I heard they didn’t score or whatever, but [it’s] nothing we should think about.

“We know about their qualities, we know about their style, we know that they are really experienced – maybe the most experienced team in the Premier League. That’s another thing. And they play at home. A lot of things which cause us work.

“But we’ve nothing else to do, so we go there and we want to show again that we have really big targets this season, we want to go for it and we’ll really fight for the result. If we can do this then we have a chance. That’s the only thing I think about.”

Liverpool did well to restrict West Brom's dead-ball opportunities at Anfield in the reverse fixture and will look to starve them of dangerous fouls again.

The Baggies, who have no injury concerns, have scored the most goals from corners (14) and the most headers (14) in the division.
