Kano Pillars, Niger Tornadoes embark on short break

Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes have announced a week break to allow their players and officials observe the upcoming Muslim's Eid-el Kabir celebration.

Both Nigeria Professional Football League sides have been in camp since June following it World Cup break despite the indefinite suspension of the league due to crisis rocking the nation's football.

The Sai Masu Gida's secretary, Sayyadi Abdullahi said the management's decision to give the break was to permit the team, especially the Muslim to celebrate the Sallah with their families.

Abdullahi further disclosed that the team is expected back in camp on Thursday, August 23, 2018 as training resumes on the same day at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

On the other hand, Niger Tornadoes' manager Abubakar Mustapha Gawu disclosed that the team's embarkment on the short holiday were owing to the same festive celebration.

Gawu appealed to the players to use the festive period to rest enough while urging them to abstain from any activity that could see them suffer a loss of form.

He further confirmed that the team will resume it's full training activities on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in build up for the league clash against leaders Lobi Stars.
