Junior Lokosa does not doubt his motivation for Kano Pillars

Kano Pillars’ Junior Lokosa has affirmed that he has not lost the motivation to finish the league season in a spectacular way for his club.

Lokosa fired two goals for Sai Masu Gida in their 4-1 win over Giodano in a friendly match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofarmata on Wednesday ahead of the continuation of the rest of the league season.

The NPFL leading marksman further increased Sai Masu Gida’s advantage over Giodano in the 76th and 78th minutes after Nwagua Nyima and Adamu Hassan’s first-half goals in the eighth and 35th minutes while Emma Adaguala reduced the tally for the visitors in the 44th minute.

He said he is looking forward to the restart of the league season with full focus and high expectations to continue from where he stopped before the World Cup break last month.

“Scoring goals is just part of me and I can’t dissociate myself from it. I am focused on helping my team and nothing else,” Lokosa told Goal.

“I was able to get two goals in our last friendly match and I am looking forward to the continuation of the league with focus and poise. I am not under pressure and neither am I set out to impress anybody. I will continue to do my best to ensure that Pillars win as many matches as possible.

“The game against Giodani was meant to test our resolve and preparations for the league. It was not a difficult one for us because they didn’t stress us that much. We have peaked at the right time and are expecting to finish the season impressively.”

Lokosa will hope to remain in form when Pillars face El Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday at home when the league season continues again after the World Cup break.
