Hummels: Germany NOT terrified by Will Grigg... but I want his shirt!

Mats Hummels insists that Germany's defence are not "terrified" of Northern Ireland striker Will Grigg but admits that he is a fan of the Euro 2016 sensation.

Grigg become a viral hit ahead of the tournament off the back of his chant, 'Will Grigg's on Fire' - set to the tune of 1996's 'Freed from Desire' by Gala - which has been heard at stadiums throughout the tournament.

The striker netted 25 goals for Wigan in League One last season to earn a place in Michael O'Neill's squad and, despite not playing single minute at Euro 2016 so far, Hummels is well aware of the 24-year-old.

When asked if Germany were "terrified" of Grigg, the defender told reporters: "It would be nice if that were true - but it's not.

"The story about Will Grigg is great. I am already a fan of him. I will try to get his shirt."

Hummels also discussed Joachim Low's approach with the Germany squad in light of their goalless draw with Poland.

He added: "Joachim Low was relaxed all along. He never has been as loud as Jurgen Klopp. His relaxed mood has transferred over to us."
