Ghana FA prez speaks on Ayews' Black Stars snub

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi says Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah must be allowed to do his job, amid the hullabaloo about the dropping of Andre and Jordan Ayew from his latest squad.

Undoubtedly, the duo were the biggest names missing as the four-time African champions unveiled their team for the upcoming Fifa World Cup qualifier against Uganda next month.

Appiah has not given any reason for the big call.

“I think that we must be a bit cool-headed and reflect over the situation carefully and also give the coach the chance to look at the reasons for their exclusion from the team," Nyantakyi told Starr Sports.

“We should not be too emotional about any issue.

"Let’s try and be more rational because the final decision is his as to who he invites or not to invite."

Despite no official explanation for the Ayews' snub, many believe their omission has been due to recent poor performances in the national colours, coupled with their withdrawal from Ghana's squad ahead of the crucial away clash with Congo in the World Cup qualifying last month.

It is not the first time the Ayews have been snubbed by Appiah.

In 2013, the 57-year-old famously left out the brothers from his squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
