Fantasy Football: Gabriel Jesus, Sigurdsson and the other EPL bargains to boost your team

Differentials are the key in fantasy. As mentioned in last week’s article, good teams have the right star players, great teams have the right bargain players.

If you can find a healthy mix between low price and low ownership you will launch up the table in both mini-leagues and overall rank alike. Listed below are 11 players who are both low owned (less than 5%) and reasonably priced (below £8.0m) in the Goal Premier League game.

GK: Tom Heaton - Owned by 1.69% of managers. Price: £6.2m

Heaton is easily the best-value fantasy goalkeeper out there - and it’s not even close. He leads the league in saves and, with Burnley’s fifth-best home defence in front of him, has kept three clean sheets in his last five starts at Turf Moor. Things get a little tough on the road but he still ranks second in total points at his position behind Thibaut Courtois, who costs £1.2m extra.

Premier League Team of the Week Mason Holgate

DEF: Mason Holgate - Owned by 1.05% of managers, £4.6m

DEF: Scott Dann -  Owned by 1.51% of managers, £5.2m

DEF: Ryan Bertrand - Owned by 1.79% of managers, £6.0m

GFX FORMATION EPL BARGAIN XI

MID: Matt Phillips - Owned by 3.24% of managers, £6.1m

Phillips has hit a bit of a rough patch points wise, but the performances have not dropped off that much. He continues to be the main creator for West Brom, leading the team in crosses, chances created and assists. Now is a great time to add the 25-year-old in as he faces just one top-10 defence in the next five matches.

MID: Gylfi Sigurdsson - Owned by 3.21% of managers, £7.7m

MID: Robert Snodgrass - Owned by 1.92% of managers, £6.1m

MID: Wilfried Zaha - Owned by 1.2% of of managers, £6.3m

Gabriel Jesus Manchester City 2017

FOR: Gabriel Jesus - Owned by 2.07% of managers, £5.6m

He made the team of the week and at £5.6m is definitely an option that needs to be considered. Manchester City's new signing looked lethal against West Ham and, with Swansea’s league-worst defence on the horizon this week, he could be in for a big points haul if he starts. “What if he doesn’t?” you may ask. Well, one of the benefits of the Goal game is that it allows Sunday substitutions, so you can bring in Jesus now, reap the rewards if he does play or swap him out before the Leicester City vs Manchester United game if he doesn’t.

FOR: Christian Benteke - Owned by 2.03% of managers, £7.3m

FOR: Andre Gray - Owned by 1.61% of managers, £6.2m

Gray looked a must have last week and, while the performance was there, the points were not. His five shots were only bested by Gylfi Sigurdsson’s six so it's worth doubling down on the Clarets frontman both this week and in the long term. The addition of Robbie Brady should offer even more goal scoring opportunities for the 25-year-old. Coming up against Watford, who have only managed one clean sheet in the last 10 matches, makes him all the more attractive.
