Enyimba’s Ogunbote wants fair officiating against Nasarawa United

Enyimba head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has stated that the People’s Elephant will be optimistic of securing a good result in Lafia against Nasarawa United this weekend if they get a level playing ground from the match officials expected to serve as arbiters in the league tie.

The People’s Elephant are third on the league table with 38 points from 24 matches despite playing their home matches away from their natural home (the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba) and Ogunbote informed that he has implicit trust in his wards that they could surprise the Solid Miners before their fans if only they get a fair officiating.

“We can get result anywhere we go if we get fair officiating. We know that Nasarawa United are a very good side but we are also confident in what we can achieve too. We are praying for a level playing ground in Lafia for us to showcase what we have got. The boys did very well against Aboa Warriors because we knew it was very important for us to seal the three points,” Ogunbote told Goal.

“We shall continue to do our best in our desire to climb further the league table but we appeal to match officials too to be humane in their calls so that the image of the league will continue to soar.”
