Donsah signs Bologna contract extension until 2022

The 22-year-old midfielder was nearing his exit from the club but has opted to stay until at least 2022 following a new deal

Italian Serie A side Bologna have confirmed a contract extension for Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah that will see him tied to the club until 2022.

The 22-year-old's deal with the Red and Blues was set to expire this summer, with reports of interest from several clubs, including Everton.

However, a meeting with coach Filippo Inzaghi this week led to the player’s decision.

"We can announce that a contract extension has been agreed with Godfred Donsah with him signing a new deal which runs until June 30, 2022," a club statement read.

"We're happy with this decision and wish him all the best as he continues to stay with us," the statement added.
