Chelsea & Man City keen on Coman but Bayern hold all the aces

Kingsley Coman’s future may lie at Chelsea or Manchester City, but it is Bayern Munich where he is liable to find himself long term.

When is the Champions League draw?

The 20-year-old France international has been on loan with the Bundesliga champions since 2015 from Juventus, and Bayern have a purchase clause of €21 million to claim his registration full time that must be exercised before April 30.

It is highly unlikely that the player will return to the Serie A side, as Goal understands the Germans have the decision-making authority over the wide attacker's future. Even Coman does not have the power to veto the deal becoming a permanent arrangement.

If the Allianz Arena club simply want to purchase him to sell him on at a great profit, they also have the opportunity to do so, with two of England’s biggest sides waiting in the wings to snap him up.

Both Chelsea and Manchester City are following the youngster’s progress, although they have yet to make any concrete approaches for the former Paris Saint-Germain youth, who has been linked with a move valued up to €60m to the Premier League.

Nevertheless, it is in Bavaria where he is set to be found next term, with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently proclaiming that “the tendency is to buy him”.

Coman has made only 17 appearances for Bayern this season, having suffered from injury problems in the latter part of 2016. Since returning to action following an ankle problem suffered before Christmas, he has typically found himself on the bench.
