Cardiff City host Wolves on Friday with the result set to have a huge bearing on the Championship title race.

Though neither team is assured of automatic promotion to the Premier League, both sides are in strong positions heading into the final furlong of the campaign.

Despite just two wins from their last six games, leaders Wolves are 11 points clear of third-placed Fulham with six matches left to play.

Anthony Pilkington's stoppage time equaliser ensured Cardiff City are the side with all the momentum in the race to probably join Wolves in securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Though Neil Warnock's side missed out on equalling their club record of nine straight wins at Sheffield United on Monday, their form in the second half of the season means that a win on Friday could even make them the favourites to win the title.

Many are making the Bluebirds favourites to beat Wolves despite Nuno Espirito Santo's side sitting atop of the table for the majority of the campaign.

They have struggled for consistency in 2018, but a win in the Welsh capital would put them one win away from the Premier League and a maximum of three away from sealing the deal as title-winners.
