Betting Preview: Sweden v Peru: Back the South Americans to avoid the defeat

Peru and Sweden end their World Cup preparations with a friendly at the Nya Ullevi on Saturday evening.

Despite seeing off four-time world champions Italy in the playoffs last year, Janne Andersson’s men’s plan towards the global showpiece have been less than ideal.

They have failed to claim victory in any of their last three warm-up games but are quoted at odds of (2.50) with Bet365 to win this tie.

The Peruvians meanwhile have been in dazzling form, winning all their five games since seeing off New Zealand in the playoffs.

They’ve gotten victories against the likes of Croatia, Iceland, Scotland and most recently Saudi Arabia and are (3.10) according the same betting firm to continue that winning streak.

With the Swedes drawing their last game against Denmark, another stalemate valued at (3.10) won’t be out of place.

Los Incas have not tasted defeat in their last 14 international matches since losing to Brazil in a World Cup qualifier in November 2016, winning 10.

This makes Ricardo Gareca’s men odds on at the price of (1.55) to avoid losing at the Nya Ullevi.

Peru’s five-match winning run has really been impressive in that they have scored at least two goals within that period. Punters can back a similar occurrence here at available odds of at (1.44).

Another impressive fact is that the South Americans have kept clean sheets in four of those five games and are tipped to do so again at big odds of (3.00) with Bet365.

It should be noted that Sweden are defensively solid too so it’s looking likely that both sides not scoring at (1.72) will be the favoured outcome in Gothenburg.
