Aguero ruled out of Man City's game with Crystal Palace

Sergio Aguero and John Stones will miss Manchester City’s game against Crystal Palace on Saturday, though David Silva could be back in contention.

Pep Guardiola also confirmed that Claudio Bravo will miss the rest of the season with the calf injury he picked up during the Manchester derby.

Aguero suffered a groin injury late in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough and, although scans have shown there is no serious muscle damage, he will not be fit for Saturday’s game and is currently rated doubtful for next weekend’s match with Leicester City.

"No," Guardiola told a press conference on Friday when asked about the striker's chances of playing. "Hopefully for the next one but this game no."

Silva limped out of the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal a fortnight ago and has missed both of City’s matches since, but he has returned to training this week and a decision will be made on his inclusion in the run-up to kick-off.

"Yesterday was the first training session, so I don't know if he will be ready tomorrow," Guardiola added. "For the action in the semi-final, in the FA Cup, he's still not perfect."

Stones is struggling with a quadricep injury and Guardiola hopes to have him back for “the last games” of the season.
