With the shortlists for the  Goal Nigeria Player of the Year Award set to be revealed on Monday, December 2 which precedes voting that will be done by readers of the site, some of the nations’ finest in the are not left out of the debate on the possible names that will be in contention for the award.

Here are a few of them:

“I go for Mikel Obi because he has been very consistent for club and country. Over the years, he has been an inspiration to other players and his touches and style of play has been professional”- Sound Sultan, Nigeria Hip Hop star

“I go for Emmanuel Emenike because he is a player who plays with his whole heart and works for the progress and success of the team. He is blessed with creativity and hardly waits for others to get the balls in a to score. He is a kind that of player every team would want in their squad. Aside from this, he has the motivation and charisma on and off the pitch. He really has a lot to offer."- Ifeanyi Udeze, ex Super Eagles star

“That is a tough call for me because so many players really impressed me in the outgoing year. Anyway, I will narrow it down to Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Vincent Enyeama and our top scorer at the nations cup [Emmanuel Emenike]. My choice of Mikel is due to his ability in controlling the midfield and making good use of the balls in very tight situations. He is a playmaker that can dictate the pace of the game. As for Victor Moses, he is just too exception while it will be so hard to divorce the contributions of Emenike and Enyeama from the Super Eagles. It’s just too hard for me who to pick who the eventual winner would be.” - Fred Amata, Award winning movie director

Nigeria Hip Hop star, Sound Sultan

“I will go for Onazi. He is workaholic. When the team is playing badly, he is playing well and the Super Eagles are doing well, he does the same thing.”-Jonathan Akpoborie, ex Super Eagles star

“Mikel Obi is my best player for the year 2013. I am a Chelsea fan and won’t mind if you say am sentimental about my choice. Taking a look at the present Super Eagles squad , he is the most matured player which I think was evident from his exploits at the African Cup of Nations and Fifa Confederations Cup.” -ID Cabasa, Nigeria Hip Hop star

“Victor Moses impressed me the most.  He is someone that wants to win always. Aside from this he is always focused on achieving success.”- Baldwin Bazuaye, ex Super Eagles star

So, who are you voting for?
