The Lagos based amateur outfit has unveiled plans to help discover and groom football talents in the country towards international stardom
FC Fareed, a non-league football club based in Lagos have disclosed plans to team up with the community towards unearthing talented footballers that will bring glory to the country.
This was made known during the unveiling of the outfit on Wednesday that was witnessed by notable ex-internationals.
According to club president Smith Abiola, the club programme will be channeled towards identifying and grooming raw grassroots talents who will later become the bed rock of the various cadres of the Nigeria national team.
“The players have an opportunity to become good ambassadors of Nigeria and rise to play in any of the national U-17, U-20 and U-23 teams in the future,” he said.
During the unveiling ceremony, the outfit announced Adedeji Da’silva as chief coach of the club with Ebhodaghe Fidelis named as technical director while Babatunde Abidoye will serve as team media officer.
Fareed FC will later this year embark on a foreign playing tour where they will be facing teams from Egypt, Albania and Azerbaijan in friendly matches.
