Nigeria Player of the Week
AGE 26
PLAYS FOR Fenerbahce/Nigeria
3-3 Besiktas
1-2 Fethiyespor

It was a close one between Emmanuel Emenike and Vincent Enyeama but Emenike edged it as he scored in the Istanbul derby against eternal rivals, Besiktas.

The Nigerian striker did not get off to the best of starts with Fenerbahce but has recently found potency in Turkey’s Super Lig. Last Saturday at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

The striker equalized a Besiktas early goal and then set up the second for Moussa Sow. Though the match ended 3-3, he was praised for his goal and his work rate as the Yellow Canaries maintained their lead atop the table.

Emenike has scored two in his last five games. The Nigerian was called off the bench on Tuesday when Fenerbahce lost in the Cup at home to Fethiyespor.

Though he has played 12 league games, he has had just 728 minutes out of a possible 1080 minutes, as he does not start often.
Congratulations to Emmanuel Emenike's Nigeria Player of the Week winner!

The Shortlist

Vincent Enyeama - Lille

Enyeama just continues to get better in Ligue 1 and kept his 11t consecutive clean sheet on Tuesday against Marseille.

Lille have kept 14 clean sheets this season mainly due to the form of the Super Eagles number one. Enyeama is now 141 minutes from breaking Bordeaux's Gaetan Huard's 20-year old record of 1,176 minutes.

Victor Anichebe  - West Brom

The striker has been starved of action since the resurgence of Shane Long but he came off the bench on Wednesday against Manchester City and showed Steve Clarke that he should be playing.

West Brom were 2-0 down when he came on. He should kick on from here.

Osariemen Ebagua - Spezia

Relatively unknown striker who is making his name in Seria B. the 27-year-old scored against Pescara in the Coppa Italia in a 3-0 win.

Ebagua has scored in very round of the cup completion and also has seven goals in 16 league games as Spezia chase promotion. Last season he scored 17 goals in 35 league appearances.
