thumbnail Hello,

The two star midfielders are out due to injuries sustained in the last game against Burkina Faso and will not take part in Tuesday’s encounter against the Super Eagles

Ethiopia will be without key midfielders Adane Girma and Asrat Gobena inTuesday’s Africa Cup of Nations clash against Nigeria.

Coach Sewnet Bishaw announced at Monday’s press conference that Adane has an adaptor muscle injury in his right leg while Asrat has a knee dislocation.

Adane, who plays for Ethiopian side St George, is the scorer of the Walya Antelopes’ only goal in the tournament, their first in the Africa Cup of Nations in 37 years. He scored in the 1-1 draw against Zambia.

His departure from the game against Burkina Faso cost the team dearly as they went on to lose 4-0 even though the Stallions played with a man less.

Bishaw stated that Adane did not train with the team on Sunday but the doctors are looking to see if he can make the game on Tuesday evening in Rustenburg’s Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

On the other hand, Asrat who plays at EEPCO, will be out for between 15-20 days.
