The Super Eagles got a huge cash boost ahead of their game against Zambia on Friday from Rivers state governor Rotimi Amaechi.
The leader of the oil rich state gave the team $100,000 to beat the Chipolopolo in their second Group C game.
Amaechi encouraged the Eagles to go all out and defeat the defending champions. He also told the squad that they have the support of Aliko Dangote, the country’s richest man, who has promised to also give them cash motivation should they win.
Captain Joseph Yobo thanked the governor and told him that the squad were ready to prove to the continent that they are good enough for the trophy.
