Though Super Eagles speed star, Ahmed Musa can be easily recognised on the pitch because of his searing pace, the CSKA Moscow has now added a flamboyant haircut to make it easier recognising him across the pitches on which the Eagles will feature in South Africa.
Musa has painted his hair purple and light brown ahead of the championship. Musa, came into training on Friday morning looking different, with players and officials rushing to take photographs of the new look Musa.
He said that will be the hairstyle that he will wear for the tournament, thus effectively setting the tone for the 2013 Afcon hairstyling. It is possible that players from other countries will take that as a cue and visit their various hair stylists to get a colourful haircut.
While Musa is dazzling his mates in camp with his new hairstyle, some other Eagles players that have been named in the 23-man squad have taken deliveries of custom-made football boots that will be used during the Afcon that starts on January 19 with the match between South Africa and Cape Verde kicking off the tournament.
Though he will be hoping that the new hairstyle will bring him some luck as his performance against Cape Verde last Wednesday was anything but colourful.
Nigeria will start her quest for a third continental title against Burkina Faso on January 21 in Nelspruit.
