The 23-year-old risk missing his 4th consecutive appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a hamstring injury at the training grounds at Marseille
Ghana could be without the services of Olympique Marseille's Andre Dede Ayew at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury.
The 23-year-old is reported to have picked up a hamstring injury on Wednesday at the Olympic Marseille training grounds.
Ayew was scheduled to join the Black Stars at their training base of Abu Dhabi on Saturday to prepare for the 2013 continental showpiece.
Olympic Marseille want to use the next few days to monitor the extent of the injury before deciding whether he will be fit for the Afcon.
The French outfit have notified the Ghana FA about the condition of the player but the games governing body in the West African country insist Ayew must report to their Abu Dhabi training base for their doctors to also assess him.
If the Ghana Number 10 misses the Afcon, it will be a big blow to the Black Stars handlers.
Already, Amidaus Professionals player, Yahaya Mohammed who has scored 10 goals in 14 matches in the Ghanaian top flight has been ruled out due to a groin injury.
Meanwhile, 19 players will leave Accra for Abu Dhabi on Friday evening to begin preparations for the Afcon.
Derek Boateng, Adams Kwarasey, Albert Adomah, John Boye, Kwadwo Asamoah and Dede Ayew will join them directly from the various clubs.
