Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A club Botafogo has announced that it has extended its deal with main shirt sponsor Viton 44 for the 2013 season.
The beverage company’s Guaraviton brand will continue to be displayed on the chest, sleeve and back of the Rio de Janeiro club’s shirt. Sergio Landau, executive director of Botafogo, expressed his satisfaction that the partnership could continue into a third year. The club’s commercial director, Ayrton Mandarino, added that the extension will serve as part of Viton 44’s push into other sports ahead of Rio’s staging of the Olympic Games in 2016.
Neville Proa, founder and president of Viton 44, said: “We have had very good results. A traditional club, Botafogo went through several superstars and has a crowd that lives the tragedies and celebrations. The growth we had in these years was very good throughout Brazil.”
Botafogo finished seventh in the 2012 Serie A table.
